Apprentice Organizations in Thespians:

In 1946, Spring Valley High School established our local chapter of Thespian Troupe #721. The original sponsors created two apprentice organizations called Caps 'n Bells and Spots 'n Flats in order to train students to become new Thespians. Caps 'n Bells is designed to train performers, and Spots 'n Flats is designed to train technicians and designers. These organizations have officer positions that work side by side with Thespian officers to complete the work necessary throughout the season.

Positions in the Thespian Troupe:

Non-members working towards membership are called apprentices. Apprentices should attend all Thespian meetings. Apprentices must have received points from at least one show in order to vote in elections.

*The president presides at all meetings, appoints all standing and special committees, and directs and supervises troupe activities.

*The vice president presides in the absence of the president and is responsible for the induction of new members.

*The secretary keeps the records of meetings and attends to troupe correspondence.

*The treasurer keeps the troupe’s books and pays bills and may act as business manager of Thespian productions.
